Miss Tee Jayne is a title holder for 2018 Miss Port Rockers and a sassy VW owner. Find out her tip to not smearing lipstick on a burger.
When did your passion for the pinup scene start?
Growing up in a car family I have always gone to car shows and found the fashion so intriguing. I purchased my first dress in 2012 at the Kurri Kurri Nostalgia Festival, and from that day on my collection and love for Pin Up has grown.
What kind of style are you influenced by?
I don't think I have a specific style. I like to keep the body guessing. One day I can go from a elegant swing dress, wide brim hat, looking like I'm straight from the 50's. Other days you can find me in a denim vest, rocking a red bandanna, very rockabilly punk.
Who is most influential to your style?
I don't think I'm influenced from a specific style. I've met a lot of amazing Pin Ups, and I find everyone inspires me. I do find a dress the way I feel.
Sassy. Elegant. Bright/colourful. Dark/mysterious
What is your favourite era?
Hands down my fav era is the 50's.
The cars, the fashion and the music.
What are your Top 5 must have items for being the pinup you are?
1 - Kat Von D -tattoo liner
2 - Lipsense - liquid lipstick
3 - A good corset
4 - Bobby Pins
5 - Topped off with a cheeky smile
Tell us about your makeup routine and how long it takes you?
I like to start my makeup routine with a good playlist. I don't think my makeup routine is any different to others.
3 things I make sure are noticeable:
1. My blush - bright enough for everyone to see
2. My wings - sharp enough to cut a cake
3. My brows - on point
I do struggle with those damn fake eyelashes though, something I have never mastered.
My routine usually takes 30-45 minutes. Maybe a bit longer if I get side tracked singing and dancing.
How do you set and style your hair?
Having short hair has always been a struggle styling my hands, also short arms. I don't curl my hair due to those 2 reasons. I usually go for the classic beehive, with a victory roll up front. I've found a love in hats and turbans; the easiest way to hide 90% of the hair.
What's your best kept secret?
SUNSCREEN - No matter what time of the year, always have sunscreen. Pin Ups have a good tendency of getting burnt.
PACK FLATS - If you're not already wearing flats, have some put in your bag. Promise me, you'll regret not packing them.
LIPSENSE - This is one of my musts, saves me reapplying all day. PLUS you can eat a good burger without it coming off.
A little bit more about Miss Tee-Jayne
One of my goals I've set as a pin up this year is to inspire and motivate new girls into pin up. If you've ever wanted to try pin up now is the time, there's no time like now.
You are beautiful and you can do anything if you put your mind to it.
